The Spectrum review: Relive the ZX Spectrum's 80s gaming glories
The Spectrum faithfully recreates the 80s original with its rubber keys and classic games, delighting older gamers, while younger players may face a steep learning curve due to tricky controls and tough gameplay. However, modern features like save and rewind help mitigate that frustration. It was made with as few components as possible and connected easily to the TV. Programs ran from compact cassettes, some of you may remember listening to music from these before the advent of CDs. It was possible to program in Basic and play some games. The ZX Spectrum's competitor was the Commodore 64, a popular machine that Retro Games had already recreated.
This soundbar boasts big value for small spaces
The real crux of the issue isn't whether or not the SR-B20A is a good soundbar: it is, delivering robust audio for TV, movies, music, and games, despite the lack of an external subwoofer. The issue is that there are same-price'bars that do more: Yamaha's own YAS-109 soundbar is roughly the same price and gets you Amazon Alexa compatibility, while the very valuable Vizio V-Series'bar includes a very respectable external subwoofer at, by this estimation, no extra cost. The best thing about the SR-B20A is that it delivers very respectable sound without the need for an external subwoofer. If you really don't have much space to work with, it's an ideal choice. However, if you want to maximize sound quality per dollar, you're probably better off springing for a soundbar that delivers the kind of cinematic punch made possible by an external sub.

Amazon's new Alexa-compatible streaming cube is here--is it worth it?
Like the previous model, the new Cube proffers a hands-free experience via Alexa voice command integration, and primarily improves upon the speed and "snappiness" of the first gen. In the box, you're getting the Cube itself, an Alexa-compatible voice remote, an ethernet adapter, an IR extender cable, and a power adapter--an identical accessory set to the first gen. Cube continues to offer support for streaming in 4K, HDR, HDR10, HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision--essentially every version of the High Dynamic Range format available on the consumer market. As a series, the Cube models also boast a suite of options that put them ahead of the more affordable Amazon Fire streaming devices like the Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Stick 4K. For one, the Cube has a built-in speaker, as well as far-field voice control over the device itself and connected compatible devices like soundbars.

hdmi-20-vs-hdmi-21-whats-the-difference-and-which-do-i-need
HDMI 2.1 is the newest version of the HDMI interface, concerning both HDMI ports and the cables themselves. At the time this article is being written in mid-2019, HDMI 2.1 is in the nascent stage of its lifecycle--we're just now beginning to see AV companies addressing HDMI 2.1 in their current- and next-gen products. Some high-end TVs, for instance, are starting to come with HDMI 2.1-compliant ports, and ultra-high speed, HDMI 2.1-compliant cables are right around the corner. The next generation of video game consoles from Sony and Microsoft will support HDMI 2.1, too. The new HDMI interface will support higher performance standards than the current interface, HDMI 2.0 (or 2.0b, to be more specific).
